EJ Moreno reviews One Battle After Another…
Is it possible that Paul Thomas Anderson is better than ever? With One Battle After Another, we see the filmmaker being aggressive, over-the-top, and so modern. In other words, this is the film we need right now.
In this near-flawless masterwork, PTA conjures up an absolute political nightmare, a father/daughter epic, and Leonardo DiCaprio having the most fun in years. One Battle After Another is every Republican’s worst nightmare and could be the cinematic revolution-sparker we’ve been craving.
The film features a cast that includes DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infiniti, Wood Harris, and Alana Haim. Check out the review below, and be sure to follow us on YouTube for more reviews, exclusive interviews, and other video content…
“When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunite to rescue one of their own’s daughter.”
The political dark comedy action feature comes from writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood), inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland.
