Watch the trailer for Sundance Film Festival award winner Dìdi (弟弟)

May 15, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

Focus Features has released the trailer for Sean Wang’s critically acclaimed coming-of-age drama Dìdi (弟弟), which took home the prizes for Special Jury and Audience Award at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

Dìdi (弟弟) is set in 2008 in the Bay Area, and tells the story of a 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy, played by Izaac Wang (Good Boys, Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon), as he navigates the joys and chaos of adolescence as a first-generation teenager in America.

Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Sean Wang, Dìdi (弟弟) also stars Shirley Chen, Chang Li Hua, Raul Dial, Aaron Chang, Mahaela Park, Chiron Cilia Denk, Montay Boseman, Sunil Mukherjee Maurillo, Alaysia Simmons, Alysha Syed, Georgie August and Joan Chen. Watch the trailer below…

Fremont, CA. 2008. In the last month of summer before high school begins, an impressionable thirteen-year-old Taiwanese American boy learns what his family can’t teach him: how to skate, how to flirt and how to love your mom.

Dìdi (弟弟) is only in theatres from July 26th.
