Woody Harrelson praises Alden Ehrenreich’s Han in Solo: A Star Wars Story

May 11, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Woody Harrelson, one of the stars of Solo: A Star Wars Story, has praised the performance of Alden Ehrenreich as the title character.

When it was announced that a new actor would take over the role of Han Solo from Harrison Ford, there was a lot of debate about who could do the character justice. And there has been even more debate about the casting of Alden Ehrenreich in the iconic part.

With Solo only a couple of weeks away, fans won’t have to wait long to see how the actor does, but one person who has already made up their mind is the actor’s co-star, Woody Harrelson, who plays the part of Beckett (Han’s apparent mentor) in the movie.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Harrelson had nothing but glowing words for the young actor: “I’m just very happy you guys got to see Alden Ehrenreich, who I think is a great actor, and I think incredibly charismatic,” Harrelson told the host. “He’s Han Solo and I think you guys are really gonna love him.”

Harrelson wouldn’t give anything away regarding Solo’s plot, however, and made a joke about the stormtroopers he walked out with keeping him quiet: “These guys are with me everywhere I go, just protection, also so I don’t say the wrong thing,” he joked. “Well they know I’m a little loose sometimes. Fast and loose. It’s done well for me, over the years, but in this particular context, they send these guys with me.”

Are you looking forward to seeing Harrelson and Ehrenreich in Solo? Do you think Ford’s replacement will be able to please fans with his performance?
