YouTube renews Cobra Kai for season 3, will make first two seasons available for free

May 4, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

YouTube has announced that it has handed out a season three renewal to Cobra Kai, its acclaimed sequel series to the 80s classic The Karate Kid, and will be making all three seasons of the show available to watch for free.

Currently, the first two seasons of Cobra Kai are available to watch as part of a YouTube Premium subscription; however, from August 29th to September 11th 2019, YouTube will be releasing the first season for free ad-supported viewing to everyone around the globe, with season two then releasing weekly from September 11th onward.

Season three of the show – which features the return of Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka as rival Johnny Lawrence – is set to premiere in 2020, and will also be made available to all with commercials, or ad-free via a subscription.
