New plot details and look at Terminator: Genisys, including Arnold Schwarzenegger

October 30, 2014 by Luke Owen

After yesterday’s first look at Terminator: Genisys, we have some new production images of the cast of the movie including Arnold Schwarzenegger as the “aging” T-800 Terminator.

Check out the images below…

The article in Entertainment Weekly yesterday also had some interesting plot details that we’ll be seeing a rather different interpretation of the timeline as seen in previous Terminator movies. The article also says that our introduction to Arnold’s Terminator will be similar to his first appearance as the role in 1984 using the best in visual technology. It’s the holy grail of visual effects,” says producer David Ellison. “You create a walking, breathing human that doesn’t exist.”

We’ve also got news of the movie’s main villain which is SPOILERS – a half human, half machine hybrid, described as a “game changer”.

Part of the challenge is to dazzle people with something they haven’t seen before,” director Alan Taylor says. “There are elements in our main villain that are straining the capacities of our brilliant visual-effects people. So that’s a good sign.”

Directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World), Terminator: Genisys sees Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his signature role as The Terminator alongside Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), J.K. Simmons (Whiplash), Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Dayo Okeniyi (The Hunger Games), Michael Gladis (Mad Men), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) and Douglas Smith (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters). The film is set for release on July 1st 2015.
