Stallone shifts gears for Rambo V: The Savage Hunt

AICN get the low-down on the latest instalment of the reinvigorated Rambo franchise…

After the success of his 2008 comeback effort Rambo (a.k.a John Rambo, a.k.a Rambo IV), star and director Sylvester Stallone began talking about his ideas for another sequel, suggesting he “would like to take Rambo to another genre, experiment a little with the character”.

Well on Friday Aint It Cool News received an exclusive report (later updated with a voicemail recording from Sly), and it seems that Rambo looks set to enter the world of science fiction for the fifth in the series.

Entitled Rambo V: The Savage Hunt, the idea sees the US government enlist the help of Rambo to track down a vicious killing machine that happens to be the result of genetic experimentation. A synopsis has since been leaked, which reads as follows:

JOHN RAMBO could track anyone – or anything on earth. Now the MILITARY desperately needs him for a mission that his ultrasensitive instincts tells him he should refuse [sounds familiar right?]. A BEAST is loose somewhere north of the ARCTIC CIRCLE [wha-?]. It has already decimated a secret research facility and annihilated a SQAUD of elite MILITARY GUARDS. And the raging CREATURE is headed south toward civilization, ready to wreak bloody devastation [HUH??].

Have to say I’m a little unsure on this one. Head over to AICN to read the full synopsis.
