Watch the Star Trek fan film Prelude to Axanar

October 6, 2014 by Andy Naylor

Garth of Izar is a personal hero to one Captain James T. Kirk. The character is briefly seen and mentioned in The Original Series episode “Whom Gods Destroy” and is responsible for defeating the Klingons in the Four Years War (we can understand why Kirk reveres him so) and the ambitious fan film Star Trek: Axanar follows that tale.

The entire project has been funded through donations and Kickstarter, with the movie scheduled to be released late 2015. With some, very experienced crew members, who have worked on Hollywood blockbusters (good ones, not Michael Bay rubbish) and boasting an impressive cast – Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica), Kate Vernon (Battlestar Galactica), Tony Todd (Babylon 5, SG1, X-Files) and some Star Trek acting veterans in JG Hertzler (General Martok – DS9), Garrett Wang (Harry Kim – Voyager) and Gary Graham (reprising his role as Ambassador Soval from Enterprise), it’s very easy to see why Star Trek fans are excited by this project. Not convinced? Check out the prequel to the movie…

More detailed information of the project can be found at http://www.startrekaxanar.com/ and we will of course keep you up to date with further information.
