Captain Marvel fan-favourite Katheryn Winnick would love to be in a Marvel movie

February 19, 2015 by Luke Owen

Since its announcement late last year, there has been no movement on the casting news for Captain Marvel, who is set to begin her big screen adventures in 2018.

One fan favourite for the role is Katheryn Winnick, best known for her work on Vikings, who was asked about staring in a Marvel movie – and noted that she smiled when prodded about Captain Marvel.

“I would love to. Oh wow, there’s so many,” she told IGN Movies. “I’m such a fan of comic books. I grew up reading them; they were my idols. Like, these characters came to life for me! I don’t think there’s one in particular, but I would love to play an action hero.”

“If Marvel calls, yes, I will pick up the phone,” she added.
