The 64 – Can the Commodore 64 make a come back?

April 15, 2016 by Andrew Newton

Back in the 80’s the Commodore 64 was the world’s best selling computer; with the exception of the UK where the Spectrum won the hearts of the people, the Commodore 64 dominated the home computer market.  With the Spectrum Vega and the Recreated Sinclair ZX Spectrum already on the market it’s no surprise that someone has got round to thinking about doing something similar with the C64.

The 64 is a new project currently on Indiegogo that sees the iconic C64 brought up to date with a re-imagining of the computer or a new designed handheld version with people having the choice to buy either.

The 64 will come complete with a joystick and many games to keep you occupied although details of these games is yet to be released, games will also be able to be downloaded from the internet to add to your collection.  Also, with the computer version of The 64 there will also be a cartridge slot included which means that anyone who has C64 cartridges should be able to use those in this new machine.

Take a look at the trailer below…

If you like what you see head over to Indiegogo and help make The 64 happen.
