Ridley Scott and Drew Goddard re-teaming for Wraiths of the Broken Land

May 10, 2016 by Scott J. Davis

Deadline is reporting this evening that The Martian team of director Ridley Scott and writer Drew Goddard are re-teaming for Wraiths of the Broken Land.

20th Century Fox, who were also behind The Martian, have reportedly closed a deal for Scott and Goddard to reunite for the film, which is based on the novel by author S. Craig Zahler. In addition, Martian producer Simon Kinberg is also on board.

Wraiths of the Broken Land is a western “set near the Mexican border at the turn of the previous century. A group of men assemble and storm across the badlands to find their captive sisters, doing anything they deem necessary to achieve their goal. Lives, ethics and sanity are imperiled during the wild, brutal struggle that ensues and nobody is safe.”

Scott is a busy man right now, directing the new Alien: Covenant whilst producing the long-awaited Blade Runner sequel, which will be helmed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) and is set to star Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling.
