Rumour: Ben Affleck “humiliated” over Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice reaction

May 9, 2016 by Luke Owen

More bad news for the rumour pile of the continuing war over at Warner Bros. over the future of the DC Extended Universe.

Last week it was reported that Seth Grahame-Smith had left the directing duties of The Flash and there were rumours that Zack Snyder was having arguments with the top brass at the studio over Justice League and that James Wan could leave Aquaman (which he later denied).

Well the man behind those last two rumours, Devin Faraci of Birth.Movies.Death has a new rumour surrounding Ben Affleck’s reaction to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which could tie into why he was announced as executive producer for Justice League.

“My sources have told me that Affleck was incredibly unhappy about the reception of BvS,” Faraci writes. “He felt humiliated after spending so much of the press tour saying how much better this film would be than Daredevil. On top of that his agent was furious when Kevin Tsujihara jumped the gun and announced him as the director of The Batman – there were still negotiations happening.”

As always, take this rumour with a large pinch of salt. However, it does bring to mind the Sad Affleck meme that kicked around shortly after the film’s release…
