The CW chief talks Supergirl, teases four-way crossover with The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

May 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Last week it was announced that Supergirl is set to make the jump to The CW for its second season, where it will join the Arroverse shows The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as part of the network’s ever-expanding DC output. Speaking on a conference call to discuss The CW’s fall schedule, network president Mark Pedowitz has been speaking about Supergirl’s new home, stating that it should have been part of their schedule from the beginning.

“We are sitting down with Greg Berlanti and his team next week or so,” states Pedowitz (via EW). “We have a rough idea where they’re heading and, because our working relationship with Greg, we’re confident they understand what our needs are. As for the tone or tonality of the series, they did have a pretty successful series. The fact it’s now moved to The CW, where it should have been in the first place, I don’t think it will have a big impact on the tone. This is a good thing for The CW, our parent companies [Warner Bros. and CBS Corp.] recognized this was the right place for it, and were deeply supportive across the board.”

Pedowitz also teased a big four-way crossover between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, stating that: “Just imagine what our superhero crossover episode is going to look like come December. [It’s going to be] our biggest one ever.”
