Arrow’s Willa Holland says it’s “upsetting” that there’s no crossover between DC’s films and TV shows

June 1, 2016 by admin

We reported from MCM London Comic Con last year that Willa Holland was a little bit annoyed that their plans to introduce Harley Quinn into Arrow were scrapped once Warner Bros greenlit Suicide Squad and cast Margot Robbie in the role. The character had a cameo in season two, and Holland revealed she was originally going to play a much bigger role in the series.

Well, one year later at the same event, Holland still has a chip on her shoulder about it.

“Marvel does it in their own weird way, the mash between Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and the movies and stuff,” she told press at the event. “So it’s a little upsetting because you know it is possible and it can be done and how good it would be if it was done.”

“It was annoying at first and then when Stephen [Amell] found out there was going to be a Justice League movie it only seemed, rightly so, he would be playing Green Arrow on it as well as Grant [Gustin] playing The Flash,” she added. “It just seemed like the right normal answer. Once they said no, you can’t really fight against them for it, because they are the people that gave us a job in the first place. You just have to sit there on your hands, like okay, I get it.”

Earlier this year Grant Gustin’s tweets about Ezra Miller playing the big screen version of The Flash were misconstrued as negative, but the actor gave his blessing on the casting a couple of days later.

The DC TV slate will have its hands full with crossovers soon, however, as Supergirl has now joined The CW and there’s a proposed Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow episode in the works.
