Stan Lee jokes that his Deadpool cameo made him “damn mad”

June 1, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Stan Lee enjoyed one of his more memorable Marvel cameos earlier this year, popping up as a DJ in a strip club in February’s smash hit Deadpool.

The Marvel legend had previously joked that he was disappointed the producers had him in and out of the club so quickly, but he’s now revealed that he never actually got to set foot in the place – and it made him “damn mad”.

“I don’t know if I should tell you the truth about that cameo,” said Lee at MegaCon in Orlando, Florida. “I was not in the topless dancing place. I did that in a studio and then they put it into the movie. I’m damn mad about that! I made them promise on the next one, I’m going to be right there.”

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
