Batman and Superman will argue over leadership in Justice League

December 26, 2016 by Gary Collinson

If you thought that The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel had put all of their differences aside once they realised their mothers share the same name then think again, as it seems the two will also come into conflict in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

“There’s pretty much an argument between [Superman] and Batman as to who is the leader,” said Man of Steel star Henry Cavill in an interview with Total Film.

Of course, it’s more than likely that this argument will lead to some banter and verbal sparring between the two heroes, rather than the full-blown fisticuffs we saw in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West, Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on November 17th 2017.
