Leslie Jones wants a role in Deadpool 2

December 8, 2016 by Justin Cook

As actress and comedian Leslie Jones revealed on Twitter yesterday, if it was up to her she’d be taking down bad guys and giving Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool’s potty mouth a run for its money in Deadpool 2.

The actress sent a hilarious tweet to Reynolds, in which she very clearly stated that she wants to be in the sequel to one of 2016’s biggest box office hits, Deadpool. Check it out below…

@VancityReynolds I want to be in deadpool. I could be smart mouth side kick. And my power would be loudness!!

— Leslie Jones 🦋 (@Lesdoggg) December 7, 2016

While T.J. Miller’s Weasel is already in many ways Deadpool’s “smart mouth side kick,” Jones would still fit in well in a Deadpool movie. Much like the titular hero, she’s riotously funny, quick-witted and not willing to back down from a fight, so although the chances of her landing a role in the sequel are relatively slim, the film would undoubtedly benefit from having Jones in the cast.

Jones has certainly kept busy over recent months, appearing in Masterminds, returning to Saturday Night Live for another season and starring in the Paul Feig-directed Ghostbusters reboot; the latter of which was the center of quite a bit of controversy, as it garnered mixed critical reviews, disappointing box office returns and an excessive amount of online hate.

David Leitch (John Wick) is on board to helm the second entry in the Deadpool film series, which will see Reynolds returning to play the titular character. The film will hit theaters on March 2nd, 2018.
