10 Outstanding Games You Need to Play in 2016

May 13, 2016 by admin

The games console world keeps on delivering. This is a look at some of the best releases of 2016, including some games that are already dazzling gamers around the globe and some that are set to do just that.

Street Fighter V

Released in February 2016, just like its predecessors this fifth in the series of the classic beat ‘em up slugs away in the affections of gamers around the world. The game features old favorites like Ryu and Chun-Li, but also sees some new toughs make their debut in the series such as the Aztec fighting god Necalli and the Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter Laura. The game includes new features such as the V-skills and V-gauge allow you to unleash a move that can change the whole game.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada

Released in April 2016, this real-time strategy game is set in the Warhammer 40 K universe. The story is easy to get into and the information provided on all the different factions within it isn’t overbearing. You might find yourself sniggering at the music and some of the cheesy voices, but the different components of the game still feel genuine, the visuals are crisp and the battles are entertaining. You’ll start off with a basic shape and it’s your mission to gradually upgrade it. The game mixes up objectives nicely so that you don’t grow bored of it anytime soon.

Friday the 13th

Yes, you did read correctly, there’s a game expected to come out in October which is based on the nerve-jangling slasher movie that spawned what feels like a million sequels. The game has a unique seven-versus-one scenario: one player is the infamous Jason Vorhees and the other players are the hapless Camp Crystal Lake counsellors who are trying to make it through the night. The seven of you must work together to overcome the murderous madman once and for all (or so you think!). The game includes features such as ‘make your own trailer’, where you can replay your finest kills, and new playable counsellors.

No Man’s Sky

The aim of this ambitious, imaginative game from Hello Games, set for release in June, is simple: to explore your way to the very center of the universe. You can be a mere trader or explorer, or something darker like a bounty hunter or a pirate, and journey your way through the cosmos. The further into it you venture, the more perilous the mission becomes. There’ll be combat and there’ll be convoys in the infinite universe of this game with clear, serene graphics and engaging colors.

The Witcher 3

Released in May 2015, ‘The Witcher 3’ got us gushing from the moment it came out. Influenced by Skyrim, this dark fantasy is a game to be savored, not rushed through. Chaos and tension are rife in a world which is now under the otherworldly threat of the Wild Hunt, spectral riders who have brought misery to the world for ages and now pursue a single individual. This open-world game boasts dynamic visuals that generate extra ambience and a story that alters in line with the choices you make so that each time you play is a new experience.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Due for release in May 2016, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End sees Nathan Drake return to the world of fortune hunting, to help out his brother. The two will journey across the globe, seeking out Libertaria, a pirate-utopia concealed within the forest of Madagascar, in the hope of finding Captain Avery’s treasure. It’s a world fraught with danger, so be sure you know how to use a rife — online — as there’ll be shootouts in the game! The multiplayer modes allow you to hire people to fight alongside you, and the share function enables you to let friends into Nathan Drake’s violent world.

Outlast 2

Here we have a real chiller, due for release in the autumn of 2016. This horror sequel to the original Outlast brings you a new world and new characters and takes you into the darkest recess of the human mind. Nothing is clear, including knowing who is good and who is evil, but once the conflict is over, the victors will decide who is right and wrong.

Mass Effect Andromeda

The first thing that you should note is that, despite being the fourth Mass Effect game, Andromeda is not intended as a sequel to . The second thing to note is that this game is one you’ll have to follow closely, as it was originally scheduled for release in 2016 but now there is talk of the game coming out in 2017 instead. There’s a rumor that the game will involve a ‘Pathfinder’ trying to find a new home for humanity. We’ll just have to wait!

Tom Clancy’s The Division

It’s your job to investigate the source of a pandemic and take back New York by completing missions as an agent of the Division in this action-packed RPG. The focus of the game is on shooting and looting, but you’ll feel great as you move throughout the game because you’ll always feel as if you’re winning something. This game, which was released in March, has real depth, thanks to the tweaking of the characters and gear.

XCom 2

This game is the sequel to the award-winning strategy game ‘XCom: Enemy Unknown’. The game takes you 20 years into the future, a future in which humans have lost the war against aliens. Now it’s up to the forces of the secret organization XCom to rise up against this new world order and restore control by mankind. This is a game that will really develop your skills as a tactician, allow you to savor your victories and regret and learn from your mistakes. The game was released in February.

These are some of the hottest games on the block just now. You really need to play them and let yourself in on a fabulous gaming experience. So grab yourself a console and get down to some serious gaming.
