2003 classic Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy launches on Playstation 4

April 2, 2025 by Andrew Newton

THQ Nordic has announced the release of the classic action-adventure Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy on Playstation 4.  This 2003 classic first gained fans on the original Xbox, Gamecube and Playstation 2 and now the antics of Sphinx and his undead sidekick Mummy can gain a new generation of fans.  Watch the new trailer below….

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is a 3rd person action-adventure where players join agile warrior Sphinx and his sidekick, The Mummy, on a perilous quest to stop the dastardly plans of the evil god Set and recover the stolen crowns of Egypt to restore the balance of the world.

Players will travel around an ancient Egyptian Universal Empire made up of many worlds via numerous magic portals, solve devilish puzzles and take part in epic battles against legendary creatures.  Players will need to use all of Sphinx’s wit, agility and special ability, as well as the talents of his dusty, bandaged-wrapped friend, in order to locate the stolen magical crowns and save the world.

There are many different locations to explore, deadly mythical monsters to fight and deadly traps to avoid as players travel this ancient network of portals. As well as fight enemies (or avoid them in Mummy’s case) players will be able to interact with hundreds of unique and imaginative creatures and allies.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is available for the Playstation 4 now. Those who prefer gaming on the Xbox, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy will arrive for the Xbox One on 15th April.
