Now, this one comes from The Sun, so it could very well be as fictional as it is surprising, but according to the UK tabloid The Young Ones and Bottom star Ade Edmondson has bagged himself a role in Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Episode VIII.
According to the report, Edmondson impressed director Rian Johnson and executive producer J.J. Abrams, with a source allegedly telling the paper that:
“While J.J. Abrams isn’t directing, he is still heavily involved and he is really keen on British talent. Ade is starting to go back to his acting roots after doing a lot of reality TV recently and this is a huge deal for him. His character is top secret, like everything else to do with the film and its plot. But given his old comedy characters, it would make sense for them to give him an eccentric part.”
Star Wars: Episode VIII is set for release on December 15th 2017 and sees returning cast members Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix) and Andy Serkis (Supreme Leader Snoke) joined by new additions Benicio Del Toro (Guardians of the Galaxy), Laura Dern (Jurassic Park) and Kelly Marie Tran (Ladies Like Us).
