Hugh Jackman says Wolverine 3 is going to be “different to anything we’ve done”

October 4, 2016 by Gary Collinson

This coming March we’ll see Hugh Jackman donning the adamantium claws and sideburns one last time as he returns as Logan for what is said to be his X-Men swansong in Wolverine 3, and it seems we won’t have long before we get our first glimpse of footage.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Jackman has revealed that the marketing campaign is set to get underway “in the next week or so, while he also teased a major tonal shift for the movie.

“There’s going to be some stuff coming out in the next week or so. That’s all I’ll say. I’m not good. I’m the kind of person who tells everybody everything. Basically, it’s going to be very different. Very different in tone and hopefully different to anything we’ve done.”

Details on the plot for Wolverine 3 are scarce, although its been heavily speculated and rumoured that the film will incorporate elements of the Old Man Logan comic book, while Mister Sinister is confirmed as the villain. Oh, and it’s going to follow in the footsteps of Deadpool with an R-rating.

Wolverine 3 is being helmed by The Wolverine director James Mangold and will see Hugh Jackman joined in the cast by Patrick Stewart as Professor X, along with new additions Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Elise Neal. It is set for release on March 3rd, 2017.
