Kiersey Clemons to cameo as Iris West in Justice League

November 2, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Dope star Kiersey Clemons is set to take on the female lead of Iris West in Warner Bros. and DC Films’ The Flash movie, and it seems that – much like Amber Heard’s Mera from Aquaman – she’ll be making her debut as the character next year in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

There had been some speculation among fans as to whether Clemons would remain attached to The Flash, given that she’d been cast by her Dope helmer Rick Famuyiwa, who vacated the director’s chair on the solo movie this past weekend due to creative differences with the studio.

Famuyiwa became the second director to leave The Flash after Seth Grahame-Smith, who exited the project back in April over creative differences of his own. As yet, there’s been no word on a possible replacement for Famuyiwa, but it’s thought that his departure will lead to a delay in production, and the release date being pushed back.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West) and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on November 17th 2017.
