Deadpool 2 will reportedly start shooting in May

February 22, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Originally published February 22, 2017. Updated April 16, 2018.

It looks like 2017 is going to be a busy year for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise on the production front; Josh Boone’s X-Men: The New Mutants begins filming in the Spring, with the next instalment of the main franchise, X-Men: Supernova, also expected to get underway in the summer.

Now it seems we can add a third film to that list, as My Entertainment World is reporting a May 1st production start date for Deadpool 2, suggesting that the sequel will shoot in Vancouver under the working title ‘Love Machine’.

Deadpool 2 is being directed by David Leitch (John Wick), and will see Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth joined by new additions Cable and Domino. If rumours are to be believed, former 007 Pierce Brosnan is being lined up to play Cable, while Scandal star Kerry Washington is said to be the front-runner for Domino, although she has since played down talk that she’s been cast in the film.

Deadpool 2 is currently without a release date, but expected in 2018.
