Armie Hammer talks Green Lantern Corps rumours

March 14, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Preceding the SXSW Festival screening of Free Fire, director Ben Wheatley along with star Sharlto Copley participated in a paintball shootout with attending journalists. Also present, but not on the battlefield was Armie Hammer, who is still nursing a recovery from shoulder surgery.

ScreenRant took this opportunity to ask how the recovery is coming along and how it affects the rumors swirling around the Internet of him being cast in Green Lantern Corps. Hammer stated “I’m okay now. I’m in physical therapy. I have another month of that,” and on being in the running for the superhero role, “I don’t know. Technically [I am], because they haven’t hired anyone.”

Hammer was first linked to the role of Green Lantern due to some social media activity, where he was followed on Twitter by DC Films co-chief Geoff Johns and actor Joe Manganiello. He has since denied his casting, but continues to tease fans on Twitter.

There are also rumors that a member of the Green Lantern Corps will appear in this November’s Justice League.

Justice League is set for release on November 17th 2017, while Green Lantern Corps is slated to arrive on July 24th 2020.
