Jessica Chastain throws her hat in the ring to play Poison Ivy in Gotham City Sirens

March 29, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Although we’ve had no casting on Gotham City Sirens beyond the returning Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, there have been rumours that Megan Fox is wanted for the role of Poison Ivy, and now Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain has revealed that she’d be open to portraying Pamela Isley should the opportunity arise.

“I’m interested in all things where the characters are strong and dynamic, and not stereotypes or objects,” said Chastain in an interview with CinemaBlend. “I like female characters that are subjects, not objects. And so, if Poison Ivy happens to be that, sure. Throw my hat in the ring.”

It is expected that Poison Ivy and Catwoman will join Harley Quinn in the film, which is being directed by Suicide Squad helmer David Ayer. As yet, there’s no word on a potential release date, but there have been reports that Warner Bros. may be looking to fast track the project into production this year.
