New Spider-Man trailer, Men in Black reboot, Godzilla: King of Monsters casting and more – Daily News Roundup

March 29, 2017 by Luke Owen

SPIDER-TRAILER

Following on from DC releasing their first official trailer for Justice League, Marvel and Sony fired back with the second trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming. As promised, the trailer featured more Spidey, more Tony Stark and a lot of Vulture. Watch the trailer here.

MEN IN REBOOT

For a while there was a lot of talk of Men in Black 4, and then there was chatter about a reboot or a crossover with 21 Jump Street. However it seems that all those projects have fallen through, and director Barry Sonnenfeld is unconvinced there will be new movies on the horizon. “I wish there were a fourth film,” said Sonnenfeld. “I don’t think Will Smith nor I would be involved. But I love the franchise, because I developed it and created it. But I think the problem with making a fourth film – for a while they were talking about combining 21 Jump Street and Men in Black – is there are too many expensive players in the mix. There’s Steven Spielberg, there’s other producers, and I think the way to do it is to have new agents or something like that. Not have me, not have Will Smith, not have Tommy Lee Jones. Just have other adventures. I wish they would do it, I don’t know if they will.” Read more about that story here.

IT FACTOR

The first trailer for the new adaptation of It lands today, and we got a teaser and poster for it yesterday. Check both of them out here.

HEARD AROUND THE WORLD

Although she’s finished filming Justice League, Amber Heard is keeping in shape for her upcoming role in Aquaman, which starts shooting this summer. Check out a photo of her working out here.

SPOOKY SPOOKY

A24 has debuted the first poster and trailer for writer-director David Lowery’s upcoming fantasy drama A Ghost Story which reunites Lowery with Ain’t Them Bodies Saints stars Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara. Watch the trailer here.

KING OF CASTING

With an already impressive cast that includes Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, and Kyle Chandler, Godzilla: King of Monsters has added Straight Outta Compton star O’Shea Jackson to its list. No word yet on his character. Read more about that story here.
