John Barrowman has revealed that he’ll be sitting out of the Arrowverse this coming year, with the actor revealing at the Planet Comicon Kansas City that he won’t be reprising the role of Malcolm Merlyn for the next seasons of The CW’s DC shows.
Alongside Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance) and Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart), Barrowman had signed a contract to appear as a series regular across all of The CW’s DC series, most notably Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the latter of which saw him as part of the Legion of Doom.
While he completed his run on Legends in the season two finale earlier this month, we do have more appearances from Malcolm to look forward to in Arrow this year, with the character said to be a huge factor leading up to the season five finale.
