Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 may premiere earlier than expected

August 7, 2017 by Gary Collinson

With Marvel’s Inhumans taking Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s spot on ABC this September, it’s previously been reported that the fifth season of The Avengers spinoff won’t get underway until January 2018.

However, speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, ABC’s Channing Dungey has revealed that fans might not have so long to wait after all, stating that: “It’s going to come on right after Inhumans, As soon as the eight episodes of Inhumans is done, then S.H.I.E.L.D. will begin.”

Inhumans is slated to premiere on ABC with a double-bill on Friday, September 29th, followed by a further six episodes which will run through to November 10th (assuming the network doesn’t take any breaks). Therefore, it’s possible that season five of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. could get underway as early as mid-November.
