Joe Manganiello teases Deathstroke movie with social media post

October 29, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Following on from the news that Warner Bros. has tapped Gareth Evans (The Raid) to direct a Deathstroke solo movie for the DC Extended Universe, actor Joe Manganiello has taken to social media to tease the project by sharing an image of Slade Wilson’s battle-damaged mask…

Manganiello was originally announced as having secured the role of Deathstroke last year, with the original plan being to have him face of with The Dark Knight in Ben Affleck’s The Batman. However, with Affleck vacating the director’s chair and incoming filmmaker Matt Reeves deciding to start from scratch on the script, Manganiello’s involvement with the DCEU seemed to be in doubt. Back in July, he had stated that he did know whether or not Deathstroke would appear in The Batman, but was unable to say – presumably because he already knew at that point that plans were afoot for a solo movie.

Let us know if you’re excited to see Manganiello taking on the role of Deathstroke for a solo movie, or if you’d have preferred him to to toe-to-toe with Affleck’s Caped Crusader in The Batman…
