We know that Planet of the Apes and Kong: Skull Island star Terry Notary is portraying one of the Black Order / Children of Thanos in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, but it seems he’ll also be taking on another role for the second part of the superhero epic, with Notary revealing to Yahoo! Movies that he’ll be performing motion-capture for the Adolescent Groot.
“Yes, I am playing teenage Groot,” said Notary. “I’m having a blast with it. It’s really, really fun. I can’t say too much about him, but he’s coming of age, so you’ll see the teenager find a mentor to look up to and to model himself after. The character’s great, and the films are going to be great. We’ve got such an amazing cast and a great pair of directors at the helm. The Russos allow the actors to jam on scenes together to the point where it just feels great and everybody gets their moments.”
It will be interesting to see who Groot starts modelling himself after. We know that Thor will be spending some time with the Guardians of the Galaxy, so perhaps the God of Thunder could be taking on this mentor role? Although, given the enormous cast, it could be anyone.
