The Shape of Water takes the top prize at the 2018 PGA Awards

Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water received a major boost to its Oscar chances last night when the Producers Guild of America honoured the film with the Darryl F. Zanuck Award at the 2018 PGA Awards.

In the past ten years, the recipient of the Darryl F. Zanuck Award has went on to claim Best Picture at the Academy Awards on eight occasions. It has however been wide of the mark the past two years, honouring The Big Short and La La Land while Best Picture went to Spotlight and Moonlight.
