Vin Diesel in talks for Sony’s Bloodshot movie

January 8, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

Not content with voicing one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Groot, according to The Wrap, Vin Diesel is in talks to sign onto Sony’s five-film Valiant comic book shared universe by headlining Bloodshot.

Bloodshot tells the story of a mortally wounded soldier who’s resurrected using nanotechnology and given the task of hunting down superpowered outcasts known as harbingers. Bloodshot was created by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton in 1992.

Sony secured the rights to the property in 2012 and announced their plans for a Valiant Entertainment shared universe, with Bloodshot being the first movie, followed by Harbinger. The plan is for the two franchises to culminate with Harbinger Wars.

Avengers: Age of Ultron’s visual effects wizard Dave Wilson is attached to direct a script by Arrival screenwriter Eric Heisserer. Vin Diesel’s Fast and Furious producer Neal Moritz is also on board.
