Joel Edgerton keen to reprise Uncle Owen role in Obi-Wan Star Wars spinoff movie

February 28, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

With Stephen Daldry rumoured to be in talks to direct the movie, and Ewan McGregor doing everything but wear a brown habit in public, former Owen Lars, Joel Edgerton, has been speaking about reprising his role for the forthcoming Obi-Wan standalone Star Wars movie.

While on the press tour for Red Sparrow (read our review here) Yahoo Movies asked him if he’d be interested in returning to a character he embodied in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and prequel high-point, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Edgerton responded with “First part of your question is: could he come back? Yes. Should he come back? Maybe even more of a yeah! ”I think me and Ewan and Liam Neeson in a movie is pretty good. Absolutely! I’d be totally down.”
