Poster and trailer for Funny Cow starring Maxine Peake

March 2, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its release next month, Entertainment One has revealed a new poster and trailer for the upcoming comedy Funny Cow. Directed by Adrian Shergold, the films stars Maxine Peake as the titular working class comedienne  alongside Paddy Considine, Stephen Graham, Tony Pitts, and Alun Armstrong; take a look below…

Maxine Peake plays the gritty role of ‘Funny Cow’, a comedian who breaks through the glass ceiling of the all-male 1970s comedy circuit to rise to stardom. Set against the backdrop of working men’s clubs in the North of England, FUNNY COW is both a love-letter to a bygone era and the defiant story of a woman who refuses to give up her dreams.

Funny Cow is set for release on April 20th and features a cast that also includes Lindsey Coulson, Christine Bottomley, Kevin Eldon, Hannah Walters, Diane Morgan, Jim Moir, John Bishop, Hebe Beardsall, Tom Gibbons, Richard Hawley, and Corinne Bailey Rae.
