Homeland to end with season 8, confirms Claire Danes

April 20, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Showtime’s acclaimed drama series Homeland will come to an end with its upcoming eighth season, which is set to get underway later this year.

Appearing on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM show, star Claire Danes – who plays CIA officer Carrie Mathison – was asked whether the next season will be the last, with the actress confirming that “Yeah, that’s it.”

Homeland was renewed for a seventh and eighth season by Showtime last year, while recent comments from showrunner Alex Gansa had indicated that the story had been designed to come to an end with season eight.

Based on the Israeli series Prisoners of War, Homeland premiered in 2011 and has received a host of accolades over the years, including five Golden Globe awards and eight Emmy Awards.
