Samuel L. Jackson says Nick Fury will meet Black Panther at some point

June 19, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Samuel L. Jackson says his character Nick Fury will come into contact with Black Panther one day in the future.

While Nick Fury might not have his own movie or be as integral to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Iron Man or Thor, he is still an important character in the franchise.

Jackson’s character has been involved in numerous important events over the years and was even featured in the post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War. But will he ever come into contact with one of current biggest stars of the MCU, Black Panther? Jackson thinks it’s definitely going to happen.

Speaking to ET Online, Jackson – who was vocal about his desire to appear in Black Panther – revealed that he pitched an idea to Marvel about how he could have been in the film:

“He should’ve been there. He should have been somewhere — maybe in that casino in Korea when all of that stuff jumped off. Just so you could say, ‘Oh, Nick Fury is out in the world looking for whatever the evil in the world is,'” he explained. “He’s just there and is kind of like, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s that Black Panther dude.’ ‘Cause there’s no way in the world he doesn’t know where Wakanda is or what vibranium is or any of that, because he’s Nick Fury.”

Jackson – who will next be seen alongside Brie Larson in next year’s Captain Marvel – suggested this all to Marvel but they didn’t bite: “It was just like, ‘Ehh, nah. We’re good. Nick Fury and Black Panther will meet somewhere. But not there.'”

Would you have liked to have seen Nick Fury in Black Panther? Or do you think there will be a more suitable opportunity down the road for the two characters to collide?
