Details on Seann William Scott’s Lethal Weapon character revealed as Maggie Lawson joins the cast

July 31, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in May it was announced that Sean William Scott would be joining the cast of Lethal Weapon as a replacement for Clayne Crawford, who was fired from his role as Martin Riggs due to various on-set incidents.

The American Pie star will lead the cast of the third season alongside Daman Wayans’ Roger Murtaugh, and now Deadline has revealed details on Scott’s character, as well as revealing that Maggie Lawson (Psych) will play his ex and mother of his child.

Scott is portraying Wesley Cole, a war veteran and father, with Lawson as Natalie Flynn, an emergency room surgeon. The pair met years earlier in an active war zone where Natalie was serving as a medic, and had a brief romance that resulted in a child. Over a decade later, Cole has moved to Los Angeles to get closer to mother and child.

Season three of Lethal Weapon is set to premiere in the States on September 25th, although it isn’t expected to get underway in the UK until January 2019.
