Steampunk puzzle adventure Steamburg arrives on the Nintendo Switch

November 23, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Indie publisher Monster Couch has announced the release of their steampunk puzzle adventure Steamburg on the Nintendo Switch.  Developed by steampunk specialist, Telehorse, Steamburg takes players into a fight against rogue robots.  Check out the game’s launch trailer below.

In Steamburg players take the role of Professor Vincent Cornelius Moore to stop the horde of rogue robots from invading the city of Steamburg.  Moore’s only weapon against this mechanical foe are small electro-bombs that temporarily lure the robots and stall their progress, by using these bombs it is possible to trick the robots to collide with a metal melting Tesla coil.  As players progress through the game the rampaging robot horde will increase in size and speed.

As well as fighting off the robots it is also up to players to discover the fate of Moore’s fiance who was in Steamburg at the time of the invasion.

This award winning title features:

  • 32 atmospheric Steampunk levels.
  • Hidden locations to seek out and discover.
  • Dozens of narrative objects to be explored.
  • An original score by Silver Rocket.
  • Outstanding American and British voice actors including Bruce Glover (known for Diamonds Are Forever and Chinatown).

Steamburg has been awarded the Best Upcoming Game at IMGA in San Francisco in 2017 and Best Storytelling at White Nights in Helsinki.

Steamburg is available to purchase now worldwide on the Nintendo eShop.
