Superman v Superman confirmed for Arrowverse’s ‘Elseworlds’ crossover

November 2, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve seen photos showing Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman sporting both his classic red and blue costume and a black suit on the set of the Arrowverse crossover ‘Elseworlds’, leading to speculation that The CW’s annual DC event could be set to feature two incarnations of the Man of Steel.

Well, that is now confirmed to be the case, as the latest set photos show a black-suited Hoechlin holding Grant Gustin’s Flash hostage, while Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow, Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl, and a stunt-double classic suit Superman look on. Check them out here via Twitter…

As yet, there’s been very little indication as to the plot of ‘Elseworlds’, save for the fact that it will reportedly see Supergirl, Green Arrow and The Flash drawn to Gotham City to investigate the machinations of Arkham doctor John Deegan (Jeremy Davies). Throw into that the likes of Batwoman, Lois Lane, John Wesley Shipp’s 90s Flash, Barry Allen and Oliver Queen swapping superhero identities, The Monitor, and now these two Supermen, and all that seems certain at this point is that things are going to get a little weird in the Arrowverse come December.

‘Elseworlds’ begins with The Flash on December 9th, followed by Arrow on December 10th and Supergirl on December 11th. In addition to Grant Gustin (The Flash), Stephen Amell (Green Arrow) and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl), it is set to feature guest appearances from Tyler Hoechlin (Superman), Ruby Rose (Batwoman), Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane), John Wesley Shipp (Jay Garrick/The Flash), Cassandra Jean Amell (Nora Fries), LaMonica Garrett (The Monitor) and Jeremy Davis (Dr. John Deegan).
