With Swamp Thing set to premiere on DC Universe this coming Friday, the streamer has unveiled a new trailer for the James Wan-produced live-action comic book adaptation, along with a new promotional poster which pays homage to artist Steve Bissette’s classic cover to the Alan Moore-penned Swamp Thing #28; take a look here…
Swamp Thing follows what happens when CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus. There, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be gone after all.
Swamp Thing features a cast that includes Crystal Reed (Gotham) as Abby Arcane, Andy Bean (It: Chapter Two) as Alec Holland, Will Patton (Halloween) as Avery Sutherland, Maria Sten (Channel Zero) as Liz Tremayne, Jennifer Beals (The L World) as Sheriff Lucilia Cable, Jeryl Prescott (The Walking Dead) as Madame Xanadu, Kevin Durand (The Strain) as Jason Woodrue, Virginia Madsen (American Gothic) as Maria Sunderland, Henderson Wade (Riverdale) as Matt Cable, Leonardo Nam (Westworld) as Harlan Edwards, Ian Ziering (Sharknado) as Blue Devil and Derek Mears (Friday the 13th) as Swamp Thing. It premieres on DC Universe on May 31st.
