Latest Black Widow set photos may reveal Yelena Belova, Taskmaster and more

June 28, 2019 by Gary Collinson

As filming continues on Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, a host of new spy photos and video have emerged from the set of the Scarlett Johansson-led solo film this week, which offer up a few tantalising details about next year’s superhero blockbuster.

First up, it seems we may now know the identity of Florence Pugh’s character. The video below features Johansson’s stunt double shooting an action sequence on a motorbike, while the second embed features a photo of shipping crates for stunt dummies, and – if you look really closely – you’ll see they are labelled ‘Natasha’ and ‘Yelena’.

A new video from the set of the BLACK WIDOW movie shows Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson's stunt double) and another character riding a motorcycle through the streets of Budapest, Hungary!

Based on the above, the assumption is that the Fighting With My Family actress is portraying the character of Yelena Belova, who like Natasha was trained as a spy and assassin in the Red Room and – in the comic books – would eventually become an ally of the Black Widow, and the second character to use the moniker in the modern Marvel era.

Next up, we have a mysterious costumed character driving an armoured vehicle, the assumption here being that this is the MCU incarnation of the supervillain Taskmaster…

And finally, just for good measure, he’s a few more shots of Scarlett Johansson…
