Dave Bautista says he has “tried everything” to star in a Gears of War movie

July 24, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Dave Bautista has been a big advocate for a Gears of War movie and says that he has “tried everything” to get himself a role.

Video game movies don’t exactly have the best track record but one property that many gamers would like to see given a go on the big screen is Gears of War – a gory, post-apocalyptic tale about aliens invading earth from beneath the ground.

Dave Bautista more than bares a passing resemblance to the franchise’s main character Marcus Fenix and the actor himself has been eyeing the role himself for years. Unfortunately, it seems his efforts to get the film going haven’t been successful.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, the actor replied with the following when asked if Hollywood would be making a Gears of War movie happen: “They’re listening. And they could give AF! .. but thank you for the support. Believe me when I say I’ve tried everything to make this happen.”

So, it’s not good news for fans of Bautista and Gears of War. But who knows, perhaps one day the right person will hear and a movie will be made. Meanwhile, the next entry in the video game series is on the way so at least fans can look forward to that.
