UPDATE: John Boyega debunks Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer release rumour

UPDATE: Having been bombarded with questions about the trailer in the wake of his agent Femi Oguns’ comments last week, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker star John Boyega has taken to social media to clarify that he has no idea when we’ll see it.

It seems we may soon get our next look at the final chapter of the Skywalker Saga, as John Boyega’s agent Femi Oguns has claimed on Instagram that the next trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to arrive this coming Monday, October 14th, during Monday Night Football.

Oguns’ post comes in the wake of a rumour suggesting that the new trailer would in fact arrive during the October 21st edition of Monday Night Football, as opposed to this coming Monday. Until we hear something official, we’ll just have to wait and see…

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set for release on December 19th 2019 in the UK and December 20th 2019 in North America with J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directing a cast that includes Star Wars veterans Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) as well as new additions Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
