Jesse Eisenberg would love to step into the role of Lex Luthor again

March 16, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Jesse Eisenberg has revealed he would love to step into the role of Lex Luthor again after appearing in two DCEU films – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

In a recent interview with In The Panda, Eisenberg admitted he loved playing the villain in a superhero film, in this case, Lex Luthor, because villains are the “fun part” and would like to return if given the opportunity.

“Oh yeah, I would very much like to because it’s such a cool character,” Eisenberg said. “Playing a villain in a superhero movie is the fun part. The good guys are fine, but the villains are the fun part because they get to be a little bit more flamboyant. Of course, the hero gets to, you know, survive. But, the villain has all the funny lines. I don’t know about the first part, but the second part is something that I could definitely be involved in, sure.”

Eisenberg portrayed the iconic Superman villain in Zack Synder’s Batman v Superman and a small role in a post-credit scene at the end of Justice League alongside Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke.

However, with the status of Henry Cavill’s Superman currently unknown in DC’s plans for its Extended Universe, the chances of Eisenberg reprising his role as Lex Luthor seem unlikely as of right now.
