Paranormal Activity 7 in the works, Happy Death Day director writing the script

March 3, 2020 by Liam Waddington

While the Paranormal Activity series seemingly concluded back in 2015 with Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, producer Jason Blum has confirmed that a brand-new instalment in the long-running horror series is in the works.

During an interview with The Evolution of Horror podcast (via ComicBook), Blum revealed a new Paranormal Activity is in development with Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon returning to the franchise to pen the script.

“We are doing a new Paranormal Activity. We have Chris Landon, who wrote almost all of them, he directed one of them, he’s really kind of the showrunner of the Paranormal Activity, he’s coming up with Paranormal Activity 7,” Blum said. “Which is not the title of the movie, but it is the seventh Paranormal Activity.”

Christopher Landon wrote each of the instalments from Paranormal Activity 2 through to Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones – which he also directed. There is currently no further news on Paranormal Activity 7 right now.

Landon is also currently working on a body-swapping horror starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton which follows a deranged serial killer who swaps bodies with a young high school girl who discovers she has less than 24 hours before the change becomes permanent.
