Peter Rabbit 2 release moved up to May

March 4, 2021 by Ricky Church

After delaying Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway multiple times last year due to the ongoing health crisis, Sony Pictures has now moved up the sequel from its previous June 11th 2021 release date to May 14th 2021.

Peter Rabbit 2 was originally slated for an April 3rd, 2020 release, but it was one of the first films to be pushed back as studios adjusted to the reality of the crisis and social distancing. It was originally delayed to August 2020, but was pushed once again when there were no signs of improvement for the movie and theatre business.

The live-action/CG-hybrid family adventure sequel directed by Will Gluck sees the return of stars Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne, and voice cast members James Cordon, Daisy Ridley, Elizabeth Debicki, and Margot Robbie.

In PETER RABBIT™ 2, the lovable rogue is back. Bea, Thomas, and the rabbits have created a makeshift family, but despite his best efforts, Peter can’t seem to shake his mischievous reputation. Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be.

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway will be released on May 14th, 2021.
