The BBC has continued to whet the appetites of Whovians with the release of a new image from the upcoming thirteenth series of Doctor Who, which features Jodie Whittaker’s outgoing Thirteenth Doctor alongside companions Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) and Dan Lewis (John Bishop).
It was announced last month that, as a result of the pandemic, the new series – also the last for current showrunner Chris Chibnall – will run for just six episodes and feature a single serialised storyline across the full season. Now, thanks to Deadline, we also have the following synopsis:

This adrenalin fueled; universe-spanning series will also see an addition to the TARDIS with actor and comedian John Bishop joining the cast as Dan Lewis who will quickly learn there’s more to the Universe than he could ever believe. Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones, Broadchurch) is also set to make his debut on Doctor Who as reoccurring character, Vinder. Jacob’s new role will see him join forces with the Doctor, Yaz and Dan as the Doctor faces her biggest ever adventure.
