Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast highlights family love amid turmoil in new trailer

A new trailer and several character posters for Kenneth Branagh’s family drama Belfast has been released. Written and directed by Branagh, the film centres on a young boy and his working class family in 1960s Northern Ireland as they navigate the social turmoils and  that includes Jamie Dornan, Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jude Hill, Lara McDonnell, and Ciaran Hinds. Belfast is a personal and joyful story about the power of memory, set in late 1960s Northern Ireland. At the center of the film is Buddy, a young boy on the cusp of adolescence, whose life is filled with familial love, childhood hijinks, and a blossoming romance. Yet, with his beloved hometown caught up in increasing turmoil, his family faces a momentous choice: hope the conflict will pass or leave everything they know behind for a new life.

Belfast arrives in cinemas on November 12th.
