Video Review – Scream 2022 is scarier and more self-aware

2022 marks the return of Ghostface to the cinemas, and the masked killer is scarier than ever in this new Scream film. Without Wes Craven helming the film, many were nervous if the film could work, but franchise newcomers Radio Silence knock it out of the park with this fresh new feature film.

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.

The cast of Scream includes the returning Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, and Marley Shelton as Deputy Judy Hicks alongside franchise newcomers Jenna Ortega (You, Jane the Virgin), Melissa Barrera (In the Heights), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Mason Gooding (Love, Victor), Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood), Kyle Gallner (Ghosts of War), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), and newcomer Sonia Ammar.

Scream is set for release on January 14th 2022.
