Hunter Schafer joins The Hunger Games prequel as Tigris Snow

June 23, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Hunter Schafer is joining a massive franchise and looks to expand her wings post-Euphoria. We’ve learned the actress will star in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Schafer will star as Tigris Snow the cousin, and confidante of Coriolanus Snow. She’ll join Tom Blyth, who is tackling the role of Coriolanus Snow in this prequel film. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be directed by Francis Lawrence, who also helmed the franchise’s Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2.

Tigris Snow is described as the cousin of Coriolanus Snow and an old acquaintance of Cressida and Plutarch Heavensbee, who resides in the Capitol. Tigris was a prized stylist in the early days of the Hunger Games. She’s even labelled as a “sympathetic and generous individual” Eugenie Bondurant portrayed Tigris in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.

Hunter Schafer is still riding high off her acclaimed work in the first two seasons of Euphoria. The model and actress recently voiced the English dub of Belle in the hit anime film Belle and will also star in a movie called Cuckoo with Sofia Boutella, Gemma Chan, and John Malkovich. Schafer is also expected to return for Euphoria Season 3 on HBO.

Years before he would become the tyrannical President of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) is the last hope for his fading lineage, a once-proud family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), the girl tribute from impoverished District 12. But, after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem’s attention by defiantly singing during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor. Uniting their instincts for showmanship and newfound political savvy, Snow and Lucy Gray’s race against time to survive will ultimately reveal who is a songbird, and who is a snake.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes stars Tom Blyth (Billy The Kid), Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), Josh Andrés Rivera (West Side Story), Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), Ashley Liao (Physical), Knox Gibson (Forgive Us Our Trespasses), Aamer Husain (Hudson & Rex), Mackenzie Lansing (Mare of Easttown), Nick Benson (Big Shot), Laurel Marsden (Ms. Marvel), Lilly Cooper (The Witcher), Luna Steeples (Overdue), Hiroki Berrecloth (Red Rose) and newcomer Jerome Lance.
