Rob Zombie’s The Munsters trailer promises “the strangest love story ever told”

July 13, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Having made his name as a filmmaker with the hard-R excesses of the likes of House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects and his Halloween reboot films, Rob Zombie is heading into uncharted territory – that of the family friendly PG-rating – for his latest feature, a reboot of the classic American sitcom The Munsters.

After sharing a teaser last month, Universal has now unveiled the full trailer for Zombie’s reboot, which serves as a prequel exploring the courtship of Herman and Lily and features Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa; check out the trailer below…

From Rob Zombie comes the strangest love story ever told as Herman and Lily’s crazy courtship takes The Munsters on a hauntingly hilarious trip from Transylvania to Hollywood.

The Munsters features a cast that includes Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, Richard Brake as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, Sylvester McCoy as Igor, Catherine Schell as Zoya Krupp, Jorge Garcia as Floop and Cassandra Peterson as Barbara Carr.

The Munsters is set for release in September.
